Deborah L. “Deb” Wright, age 66 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Deb was born on June 7, 1951 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Orlin W. and Shirley M. (Tankersley) Gilfert.  She attended school in Syracuse and Nebraska City; graduating from Nebraska City High School with the class of 1969.

On September 12, 1970 she was united in marriage to Leon R. Wright, Jr. at the Presbyterian Church in Dunbar, NE and to this union three sons were born:  Bryan, Brad, and Andy.

Deb worked at various jobs over the years including as a Cook/Dietician at St. Mary’s Hospital and Nebraska City High School.  She also worked as a Ward Clerk and in Medical Records at St. Mary’s Hospital and also at the former Pendleton Woolen Mills.  She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Leon R. Wright of Nebr. City; children:  Bryan Wright and wife Mary of Nebr. City; Brad Wright and significant other Amy Arnold of Lincoln, NE and Andy Wright and wife Kristin of Nebr. City; five grandchildren:  Natalie, Samuel, Michaela, Trevor and Alex; mother Shirley Gilfert of Syracuse, NE; siblings:  Daniel Gilfert and wife Amy of North Port, FL, Nicki Nutter and husband Shawn of Gretna, NE, Kristie Beccard and husband David of Syracuse, NE and Rod Gilfert of Syracuse, NE; sisters-in-law:  Juanita Schnitzer and Kelley Creek both of Nebr. City; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Deborah was preceded in death by her dad, Orlin Gilfert in 2001.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City with Rev. Dr. Charles Kathurima  M. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wyuka Cemetery.  

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (5/30) evening at the mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the Pancreatic Cancer Association.
