Carol J. Behrends, age 73 of Nebraska City passed away on January 9, 2018 at her home in Nebraska City.

Carol was born on April 25, 1944 in Humboldt, NE; the daughter of Claude T. and Velda N. (Billings) Oliver.  Her family later moved to Nebraska City where she graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the class of 1962.

Carol was united in marriage to Dale H. Behrends on September 8, 1962 at Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebr. City and to this union three children were born:  Kristina, Kenneth and Klinton.

She worked for many years at Pendleton Woolen Mills as a seamstress.  Carol also was a domestic cleaner and quilter.  She served as President of the Eagles Auxiliary in 1984.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dale Behrends of Nebr. City, NE; children:  Kristina Bednar and husband Joseph of Johnson, NE; Kenneth Behrends and wife Julie of Beatrice, NE and Klinton Behrends of Cook, NE; eight grandchildren:  Andrew (Stephanie), Amber, Amy (Matt), Crystal (Joshua), Kyle, Jayden, Dustin and Trinity; six great-grandchildren:  Jillian, Lainey, Blake, Austin, Aiden and Micaela; a brother Von Oliver and wife Nancy of Weeping Water, NE; other family and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, and twin great-grandsons.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City with Pastor Terry Weible officiating.  Burial will follow the services at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (1/12) evening at the mortuary.

Memorials may be given to Nebraska City Rescue Squad.
