William G. “Bill” Breazile, lovingly known as “Bill,” passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the age of 59, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on July 11, 1966, in Nebraska City, NE; the son of William G., Sr. and Orlane (Allen) Breazile. Bill lived a life centered around family, friends, and doing things his own way. He made his home in Syracuse, Nebraska, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Bill didn’t know a stranger and was always there to give a good laugh; and persistent until he gets what he wants up to his very last breath.
Bill was a man who was never afraid to speak his mind. If he had something to say, you knew exactly where he stood. He was strong-willed, stubborn, and bullheaded at times, but behind that tough exterior was a man with an enormous heart. Bill loved fiercely, protected those he cared about, and believed that actions spoke louder than words. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and loved giving people a hard time. If Bill was teasing you, chances are he loved you.
For the past 27 years, Bill shared his life with his loving companion, Katie Anderson. Together they built a home rooted in love, memories, and family. Through life’s ups and downs, they stood by one another, creating countless memories and welcoming family and friends with open arms. Katie was not only his partner but also his best friend, and together they built a life that will forever be cherished by those who knew them.
Bill proudly dedicated 19 years of service working at the Tecumseh State Prison, where he was known for his dedication, hard work, and commitment.
More than anything, Bill was proud of his family. He was the loving father of Bill Breazile (Kassandra) and Tanner Breazile (Amber). He also loved Mitchell Watcher (Alex) and Cordell Watcher, Katie’s sons, as part of his family.
His favorite title in life, however, was “Papa.” His grandchildren—Taelynn, Keegan, Decklin, Oaklyn, Amelia, Sutton, and Theo—were the center of his world. They were his greatest pride, his greatest joy, and his greatest accomplishment. He never hesitated to spend his last dollar if it meant making one of them smile, and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to protect them. They weren’t just his grandchildren—they were his heart.
Bill never missed an opportunity to support the people he loved. Whether it was a ball game, wrestling meet, dance recital, school concert, birthday party, or any special event, he was almost always there—often arriving before everyone else. He believed that showing up mattered, and his grandchildren always knew they could count on seeing Papa in the crowds .
He was incredibly proud of his sons and the families they had built. Watching his family grow brought him immeasurable happiness, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time together, making memories, sharing laughs, and creating stories that will be told for generations.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved parents, aunts and uncles: Ben Breazile, James Breazile (Joan), Betty Horner, Marie Stoll (Paul), Dorothy Westover (Carl), Betty Baird (Dana), Cliff Allen (Mildred) and Paul Allen.
He is survived by his loving companion of 27 years, Katie Anderson; his sons, Bill Breazile (Kassandra) and Tanner Breazile (Amber); his stepchildren, Mitchell Watcher (Alex) and Cordell Watcher; his cherished grandchildren, Taelynn, Keegan, Decklin, Oaklyn, Amelia, Sutton, and Theo; sister, Julie Oakes (Danny); his brother, John Breazile; aunt Linda Allen, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Bill will be remembered for his honesty, strength, unwavering loyalty, and the unconditional love he had for his family. His legacy is not measured by the years he lived, but by the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the countless memories he created. He taught those around him the importance of showing up, loving fiercely, protecting your family, and never taking life’s little moments for granted.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that Bill’s love will continue to live on in every game attended, every family gathering, every joke shared, and every hug given. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.
The family will greet friends on Monday (July 13) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday (July 14) at 10:30 a.m. at Gude Mortuary followed by inurnment in Wyuka Cemetery at Nebr. City.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to help with the unexpected expenses that accompany Bill’s passing and to establish a memorial for his beloved grandchildren in honor of their Papa. Being “Papa” was Bill’s greatest joy, and it is our hope that his love for them will continue to be celebrated for years to come.
