William “Bill” C. Aultz

William C. “Bill” Aultz, age 76 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Friday evening; January 17, 2025 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE surrounded by his family.

William Clemente Aultz was born on April 2, 1948 at the former Lutheran Hospital in Omaha, NE; the son of Irvin Francis and Margherita Nella (Giorgi) Aultz.   He attended school in Omaha and graduated from Omaha South High School with the Class of 1966.

He was united in marriage to Roberta Lynn “Bobbi” Koenig on June 21, 1969 at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Omaha, NE.

Bill began his career with OPPD (Omaha Public Power District) in 1971.  He worked at the North Omaha Plant and also at the Ft. Calhoun Plant.  In 1978, he transferred to the Nebraska City Power Plant where he continued to work until his retirement in 2005.

Bill loved his family, his granddaughters whom he called his little M&M’s (Melanie & Megan), and his great grandsons. Other things he loved were; smoking meat and cooking for all his friends; wintering in Texas where he played water volleyball and laying by the pool with his bourbon and coke.  He also loved flowers and feeding the birds; Nascar, football and music…….but he didn’t like to dance!!

He is survived by his wife Bobbi Aultz of Nebraska City; a son Bill Aultz and wife Kathy of Nebraska City; two granddaughters:  Melanie Aultz and Megan Conner and husband Stephen; great-grandchildren:  Liam, Aiden and Maverick and another due in March; brother Frank Aultz and wife Kathy of Omaha, NE; nephew Bryan Aultz, niece Lindsey Worrall; sisters-in-law:  Lana Pistulka and husband Louis of Greybull, WY and Dena Hornby of Lincoln, NE; other extended family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in law Jerry Koenig and sister in law Cathy Vaneske.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday; January 22, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City with Fr. Tom Schultes celebrating the Mass.   Burial will be in the Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City.

The family will greet friends Tuesday (1/21) from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Gude Mortuary followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Lourdes Central Catholic School – all in Nebraska City.
