William F. Tysor, age 83, of Riverton, IA passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his home.
William Frederick Tysor was born on March 19, 1936 in Riverton, IA; the son of Raymond William and Caroline Edith (Kish) Tysor. Bill grew up and attended school in Riverton. On March 11, 1954, he entered the United States Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on February 18, 1956. He finished his schooling to earn his diploma after he entered the Army. On July 1, 1956, Bill was united in marriage to Jennie E. Hamilton in Riverton, IA.
Bill worked for Northwest Bell Telephone (now Qwest) for 35 years before retiring. He also managed Sun Down in Riverton for 21 years. He attended the Methodist and Christian Churches in Riverton. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening, hunting and trapping.
He is survived by his wife Jennie Tysor of Riverton, IA; children: William “Bill” Dean Tysor and wife Marsha of Odebolt, IA, Bruce Frederick Tysor and wife Susanne of Sidney, IA and Todd Dale Tysor of Riverton, IA; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son Chris Edward Tysor, daughter Carrie Jeannette Tysor, two grandchildren: Timothy Tysor and Travis Tysor; and mother and father-in-law Charles and Irene Hamilton.
A Memorial Gathering and lunch will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Riverton Community Center in Riverton, IA.
Bill chose to be cremated and his cremains will be interred at a later date with military honors performed at that time.
Memorials may be given to the Riverton Community Club.
