William J. Cronin V, age 37, passed away on December 28, 2024.
William Joseph Cronin V was born on June 5, 1987 in Lincoln, NE; the son of William Joseph Cronin IV and Sandra (Flesner). After graduating from high school, he attended college where he earned his Bachelor of Physics Degree. He continued his education in Physics, and was one semester away from receiving his Masters Degree.
He served in the Colorado National Guard from January of 2006 to January of 2009 and enlisted in the United States Army on January 9, 2009. He honorably and faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge on March 24, 2012. During his time of service, he was awarded many decorations including the Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon, amongst others. He also received the Parachutist Badge and was a former member of the United States Parachute Association (USPA).
He was united in marriage to Hosannah B. Perry on December 15, 2014 in Utah and he worked for several years as a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corp.
He is survived by his wife Hosannah B. Cronin of Five Points, TN; son William J. “Liam” Cronin VI, mother Sandra Largent of Iona, ID, father William Cronin IV of Greeley, CO, sisters: Danielle Demotta of Hawaii and Savannah Silver of Iowa, other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City. Burial will be in the Omaha National Cemetery on Monday (1/6/2025) at 12:30 p.m. with Military Honors by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail and the Omaha American Legion Post #1.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the mortuary, prior to the services.
