William Adams Obituary

William K. Adams, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 70. He was born May 29, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Floyd and Edna Adams.

Bill leaves behind his bedrock and wife of 39 years, Christine Adams, and his much beloved son, Matthew Avery Adams, both of Cross Lanes. He is also survived by his mother, Edna, and brothers, Jay and Christopher. He was pre-deceased by his father, Floyd; sister, Julie, and brothers, Patrick and Steven.

Following high school, Bill served proudly in the United States Navy, including service aboard the USS Enterprise CVN-65. While serving, he became an avid boxer, coach and member of the Golden Gloves of America organization.

Following his service to our country, Bill began his second career as a Union welder in Arizona and California. He served with the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers, AFL-CIO (IW).

Retiring in 2005, Bill enjoyed spending time with family, playing golf and watching Nebraska Cornhuskers football.

A celebration of Bill’s life will take place in his home state of Nebraska on May 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City with Military Honors by the Talmage American Legion Post 246.

He will be deeply missed by family and friends as the sincerely kind, loving individual he was.
