Vicki Lee (Randolph) Scharp

Vicki Lee Scharp, age 72 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at her home.

Vicki was born on March 4, 1951 in Omaha, NE; the daughter of Earl “Scrump” and Darlene (Miller) Randolph.  She grew up and went to elementary school in Riverton, IA.  She graduated from Farragut High School in 1969.  She was united in marriage to Phil Scharp on July 26, 1985 in Nebraska City.

Vicki spent her entire career as a caregiver, working in different hospitals, nursing homes, Region V and finally over 25 years at the Nebraska School for the Visually Impaired where she retired from in 2012.

In her younger years, she loved riding and competing in horse shows.  Most recently, Vicki enjoyed walking, country dancing, growing flowers and going to the grandkids activities.  She also volunteered at the Nebraska City Food Pantry, loved to organize PowerPoint Presentations for different activities, going to garage sales and collecting miniature shoes.

Vicki is survived by her husband Phil Scharp of Nebr. City; children:  Wendi Stenzel of Shenandoah, IA, Mandi Boehm (Ben) of Dunbar, NE and Kenneth Scharp of Nebr. City; five grandsons:  Matt Stenzel (Olivia), Jake Stenzel, Nathan Stenzel, Kaleb Boehm and Jax Scharp; brother Gary Randolph (Diane) of Shakopee, MN; brothers-in-law:  John Scharp (Jackie) of Nebr. City and Walt Scharp of Dunbar, NE; special friend Kathy Sammons of Nebr. City; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Gude Mortuary.  Burial will follow in St. Benedict’s Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday (4/2) at the mortuary; however, the casket will remain closed.

Memorials may be given to St. Benedict’s Cemetery or the Nebraska City Food Pantry.
