Travis Lee Bennett

Travis L. Bennett, age 47 of Nehawka, NE passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Travis Lee Bennett was born on June 23, 1974 in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Dean A. and Suzanne “Sue” K. (Duncan) Bennett.  He grew up and attended school in Nebraska City, graduating from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1992. 

He worked at various jobs, including at American Meter, Boyer Diesel and most recently at Whetrock Quarry. 

Travis is survived by his life partner Yavonda Jarrett of Nehawka, NE; step-children:  Anthony Jarrett and wife Lacey and their son Sterling of Manley, NE and Brittany Larrington and husband Paul of McCook, NE; mother Sue Bennett of Nebr. City, NE; sister Tara Dush and husband Jeff of Lincoln, NE; brother Nolan Bennett and significant other Kim Payne of Nehawka, NE; three nephews:  Layton, Enzo and Linkin Dush; brothers-in-law:  Junior Cunningham (Angela) of Cambridge, NE and Jason Cunningham (Sandy) of Brookings, SD; father-in-law Larry Cunningham (Jackie) of Beaver City, NE; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Dean Bennett on August 12, 2008; his grandparents and mother-in-law Tonda Hiatt.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Nebr. City with Bishop Clay Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Creek Cemetery south of Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday (12/20) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
