Shirley Lucille Schreiner

September 16, 1930 ~ March 15, 2022 (age 91)


Shirley L. Schreiner, age 91 of Lincoln, NE (formerly Nebr. City) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center after suffering from dementia. 

Shirley was born on September 16, 1930 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of William and Pearl Irene (Polston) Roach.  She grew up and attended school in Nebraska City, graduating from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1948. 

In June of 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Schreiner in Lincoln, NE and to this marriage three children were born:  Robin, Robert “Rubb” and Roderick.  He preceded her in death in 1977.

In addition to raising her family, Shirley had worked at the movie theater and various office jobs.  She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

She is survived by her children:  Robin Samson and husband Mike of Waverly, NE and Roderick Schreiner and wife Heidi of Weeping Water, NE; daughter-in-law Dottie Schreiner; nine grandchildren:  Heather (Harms) Cyriacks (Timothy) of Lincoln, NE, Brandon Harms (Jami) of Summerville, SC, Chevelle (Schreiner) Berhns (Ryan) of Omaha, NE, Logan Schreiner of Blair, NE, Rachael Schreiner (fiancé Levi Walker) of Omaha, NE, Ben Samson (Alicia) of Lincoln, NE, Meghan (Samson) Hoegren (Brandon) of Lincoln, NE, Jennifer (Cunningham) Festner (Doug) of Bellevue, NE and Ryan Cunningham of Weeping Water, NE; 16 great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert Schreiner, son-in-law David Harms; three sisters and two brothers.

Shirley’s Service will be held via Zoom at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022.  Those wishing to join the Zoom may either text or call Robin Samson at (402) 432-0442 for a password.  Inurnment will take place at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City at a later date.
