Obituary
Shirley K. Meek, 78, of Sidney, IA (formerly Hamburg), passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Ambassador Care Center in Sidney.
Shirley was born on October 11, 1944 in Hamburg, IA; the daughter of Wayne and Edna Meek. She attended school in Hamburg.
Shirley married Harold Lee Meek on December 17, 1966, at the First United Methodist Church in Hamburg, IA. Harold preceded her in death on October 3, 2009.
She worked for some 35 years as a CNA, the last 25 at Tabor Manor where she retired in 2018. She took great pride in her job as a CNA. She loved spending time with her family and friends and watching TV. She also had a fondness for animals, coffee and chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by son Aaron Meek and granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda all of Kansas; brothers Rick (Teryl) Meek and Dave (Sylvia) Meek both of Arkansas; sister Gayle Meek of Hamburg, IA; other family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Gary and Karen Meek and brother Kenny Meek.
No formal services are scheduled.
Memorials may be given to Mt. Zion (Utterback) Cemetery or to the family.
