Sharon Ann (Ballain) Newby

Sharon A. Newby, age 79 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Prestige Care Center in Nebr. City.

Sharon Ann (Ballain) Newby was born on December 1, 1942 in Emerson, IA; the daughter of Cecil L. and Marguerite M. (Fritz) Ballain.  She grew up and attended school in Iowa. 

On February 17, 1962, Sharon was united in marriage to Ronald J. Newby in Bedford, IA and to this union four children were born: Jeff, Lisa, Tammy and Todd.  She was a loving and caring wife and mother and did babysitting for numerous children for many years.  Sharon was a longtime member of the Eagles Auxiliary and served in various capacities including as Madam President.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 60 years, Ronald Newby of Nebr. City, NE; children:  Jeff Newby (Rona) of Lincoln, NE, Lisa Zuccarello (Louis) of Bellevue, NE and Todd Newby of Nebr. City, NE; six grandchildren:  Jessa Newby, Tyler Newby, Veronica Zuccarello, Jackson Newby, Kade Newby and Delaney Newby; siblings:  Jack Ballain of Shenandoah, IA, Tony Ballain (Cathy)  of Shenandoah, IA and Colleen Poggemeyer (Don) of Nebr. City, NE; brother-in-law Walter Yenney of Plattsmouth, NE;  other family and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Tammy S. Newby on January 12, 1992; sisters:  Catherine Hale, Joan Pace and Mary Yenney and brothers:  Cecil Raleigh Ballain, Charles Ballain and Robert Ballain.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City with Chaplain Mark Borchardt officiating.  Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
