Sharon Lynn Mockerman, 87, of Nehawka, NE, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Sharon L. (Richmond) Mockerman was born on June 7, 1938 in Boone, IA, the daughter of Lennard and Lois (Garrett) Richmond. She attended school at Omaha Central High School.
Sharon met Frank Richard Mockerman while two-step skating and they quickly fell in love. They were united in marriage on March 23, 1956 in Papillion, NE and to this union four children were born: Mindy, Jan, Jodie, and Frank Jr.
Sharon worked for over 40 years as a nursing assistant at the newly constructed Clarkson Towers. Later in life, she enjoyed working for Arbor Day Farms in Nebraska City in tree shipping. She loved the Huskers, especially Husker football and always made sure she was able to watch the games on tv. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sewing, and bowling with her husband.
She is survived by her children: Mindy Terry of Galveston, TX, Jan Bonham (Rick) of Union, NE, Jodie Meyer (Steve) of Sidney, IA, and Frank Mockerman Jr. of Otoe, NE; grandchildren: Benjamin Terry (Andre), Joshua Mockerman, Jared Mockerman (Elizabeth), Jacob Vollman (Wynter), Sierra Meyer, Jennifer Mockerman, Ashley Mockerman (Keegan), and Jamie Mockerman; numerous great-grandchildren; cousin Judy Martinez; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mockerman Sr., great-grandchild Julian Jade Vollman, and son-in-law Johnny Wayne Isaacks.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Nehawka, NE. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday (5/1) at the funeral home.
