Sharon Kay Amato

Sharon K. Amato, age 77 of Nebraska City passed away on October 21, 2021 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.

Sharon was born on November 2, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan; the daughter of Loran and Mildred (Baltzell) Lyerla.   She worked in Mortgage Banking for some 24 years in both Michigan and Texas. 

Sharon was a loving mother, daughter and sister and was one who always put her family’s needs before her own.  She especially enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles,

She is survived by her son Sam Amato of Nebraska City; a sister Janice Olis (Gordon) of Nebraska City; her loving dog Koby as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Those that welcomed her into heaven include her parents, a brother Clifton, sister Marilyn, Sam’s life partner Bryan Zielke, 2 nieces and 2 nephews and 2 great-nieces.

Memorial Services will be Thursday (Oct. 28) at 11:00 a.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

The family will greet friends Wednesday (Oct. 27) from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gude Mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the family in Sharon’s memory.
