Ruby L. Vollmann

Ruby L. Vollmann, age 92 of Nebr. City, NE passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, NE.  She had resided at Good Samaritan since August of 2016.

Ruby Lucille Vollmann was born on January 16, 1933 in Omaha, NE; the daughter of Herman and Nellie (Sumner) Vollmann.  She had five sisters and two brothers. 

Ruby cleaned businesses and homes for many years.  She worked for many years at St. Benedict’s Elementary School and also at the former Mercer’s Hardware.  She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City and was baptized at a young age at this church. 

She is survived by one sister, Mary Lou Ashenfelter of Nebraska City, NE; numerous nieces and nephews, other family and the staff at Good Samaritan Society in Auburn where she was a resident for almost nine years.

She was preceded in death by her sisters:  Zena Wright, Delores Wallace, Norleen Brown and Hazel Vollmann; brothers:  Lester Vollmann and Herman Vollmann; and her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City with Pastor Michael Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.  The casket will remain closed.

Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Nebr. City.
