Roxine Mae Hansen

Roxine M. “Roxie” Hansen, age 62, formerly of Nebr. City passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in Omaha, NE.  Roxie gave the Gift of Life as an Organ and Tissue Donor.  In her own words, she would encourage all of her loved ones and friends to live life as it comes and laugh often!

Roxine Mae Hansen was born on March 23, 1963 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Marlen Hansen and Shirley Kay Shipley. 

She was a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for many years working at nursing homes, including the Ambassador in Nebraska City, the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth, NE and most recently at Hillcrest Assisted Living in Gretna, NE.

In addition to Nebraska City, she formerly lived in Colorado Springs, CO and Tarkio, MO. 

She is survived by siblings: Lorrie Cooke, Leonard Garcia, Clifford Kempke, Angela Kempke, Hope Misuraca, Edie Garcia and Talsha Garcia; and many nieces and nephews; other family and friends.

Roxie was preceded in death by her mom and dad.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.  Immediately following the services, a gathering for family and friends will be held at BINGS in Nebraska City where there will be beverages and pizza.  

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Association.
