Rose Elvadene Moyer

Rose E. Moyer, age 94 of Hamburg, IA passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Ambassador in Sidney, IA.

Rose Elvadene Moyer was born on July 20, 1928 in McPaul, IA; the daughter of Oscar and Bernice (Haverty) Peeler.  She attended school at McPaul Elementary and Thurman High School where she was a member of the Glee Club.

She was united in marriage to Robert Moyer on August 14, 1948 in Rock Port, MO and the couple lived southwest of Payne Junction, IA.  In 1969, they moved to Nebraska City and after  Robert’s death in 1996, Rose moved back to Sidney, IA in 2002 where she resided until her passing.

In addition to raising a family, Rose worked at Pendletons, Morton House, American Meter and Ocomo Foods.   She was a member of the Sidney, IA DAV.  Rose enjoyed playing BINGO and pickle cards, going to the casinos and spending time with her family. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her children:  Cheryl Hamula of Sterling, NE, Sandra Adkins and Robert Moyer and wife Janice all of Nebr. City; nine grandchildren:  Chris (Chrissy) Adkins of Nebr. City, Joel (Tiffany) Adkins of Lincoln, NE, Jason (Pam) Moyer of Omaha, NE, James Moyer of Omaha, NE, Jennifer (Tim) Downing of Council Bluffs, IA, Ty Anderson of Nebr. City, NE, Justin Payne of Okmulgee, OK, Kevin Hamula of Van Alstyne, TX and Jesse Hamula of Germany; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother Max Peeler and wife Corky of Rock Port, MO, sister-in-law Jackie Moyer of Bolivar, MO; special friend Forrest Driever of Sidney, IA; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by an infant son Ray Allen Moyer and a brother Jim Peeler and his wife Phyllis.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA.  Burial will follow at the Hamburg Cemetery.   Immediately following the graveside services, there will be a time of lunch and fellowship at the Hamburg Senior Center. 

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (4/18) at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Sidney DAV.
