Robert G. (Bob) Catherall

Robert (Bob) G. Catherall, 80, of Lincoln, NE entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 surrounded by his family, at Bryan East Medical Center. Robert G. Catherall was born on July 3, 1943 in Long Beach, CA; the son of Harry and Florence (Mitchell) Catherall. He graduated from Oceanside High School and attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE. In April 1966, Robert married Connie (Roode) in Fairbury, NE. To this union were born three children: Christine, Robert M. and Karen. Connie preceded him in death on November 24, 2008. On September 14, 2012 he married Cheryl (Gude) Eppenbaugh in Lincoln, NE. 

Bob was passionate about many things: fishing, sports, grandkids, old cars, and especially the Kansas City Royals. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends.  He worked for several years at Gude Funeral Homes helping people plan their wishes in advance.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Eppenbaugh) Catherall, his children: Christine (Scott) Criner of Fairbury, NE, Robert M. (Deb) Catherall of Lincoln, NE and Karen (Ron) Hodges of Clarkfield, MN. Step daughter, Jill (Zach) Able of Lincoln, NE. His grandkids Carlee Criner, Chelsee Criner, Cody Hodges, Ann (Hodges) Larsen, Lucas Hodges, Carson Catherall, Kyle Catherall, Benjamin Rezac, Madeline Rezac, Zachary Able, and Aria Able. Two brothers, Roland (Judy) Catherall of Gurnee, IL and Fred (Carmen) Catherall of Port Hueneme, CA, nieces, nephews and many friends. 

A rosary will be held at St. John the Apostle Church in Lincoln, NE on Monday, August 21st at 7pm; visitation with the family from 5:30pm to 7pm. The funeral is Tuesday, August 22nd at St. John the Apostle Church in Lincoln, NE at 10:30am, with lunch to follow. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church or to the family for future designation
