Richard Rolland Hayden

Richard Rolland Hayden was born on February 9, 1941 in Grand Island, NE; the son of Cecil R.  and Laveda R. (Hill Cronk) Hayden. He attended school and graduated from the Cairo High School at Cairo, NE with the Class of 1958.

He was united in marriage to Barbara English on May 5, 1962 in Wood River, NE and to this union three daughters were born:  Michelle, Sheila and Shawna.  The couple later divorced and he married Valorie K. Gallagher on Jan. 14, 2006 in Utah.

Richard worked for numerous years in maintenance at Eaton Corporation in Kearney, NE.  He retired from Eaton's in 2002.

He is survived by his wife  Valorie “Val” Hayden of Omaha, NE;  three daughters: Michelle Wiseman and husband Martin of Wood River, NE, Sheila Hayden of Atlantic, IA and Shawna Garland and husband Larry of Ohiowa, NE; six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Laveda; his sisters: Sandy Woitaszewski, Gloria Burton, Jackie Denman, and Rosemary Stoker.

Richard Harden entered eternal peace early Monday morning;  April 24, 2023 at Prestige Care Center in Nebraska City at the age of 82 years.  He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Wood River, NE.
