Richard Hatten Obituary

Richard L. Hatten, 81, of Papillion, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Omaha VA Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Richard Lee Hatten was born on November 19, 1943 in Sapulpa, OK, the son of Clyde Richard Hatten, Sr. and Oneta (Christian) Hatten. He grew up and attended school in Sapulpa, graduating from Sapulpa High School with the class of 1962. He then attended Tulsa Technology School in Tulsa, OK.

He entered the United States Army on January 2, 1967 and faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge.

Richard worked mostly in insurance sales while in Oklahoma. He was a member of DPMA.

He is survived by his children: Brad (Brooke) Hatten of San Antonio, TX, Erin Hatten of Papillion, NE, and Casey (Chad) Davis of Haskell, OK; grandchildren: Benjamin, Brooklyn, and Blake; sister Norma Aldridge of Beggs, OK; nieces: DeeDee Bivins, Beki Pendleton, Darla Burns, Mary Margaret Wiles; nephews: Phil Brawner, Mike Hatten, Greg Hatten; great-nieces: Stephanie Sterling, Susan DiRosa, Isabelle Dos Santos, Chelsea Isbel; great-nephew: Tyler Sterling; and great-great nephew Isaac Dos Santos.

A visitation with family will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. Military Honors will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
