Regina M. (Nelson) Reidy

Regina M. Reidy, age 53 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Thursday; April 23, 2026 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.

Regina Marie Reidy was born on January 17, 1973 in Moline, IL; the daughter of Gary W. and Mary M. (Reeves) Nelson.   She attended school in Moline and graduated from the Moline High School with the Class of 1991.  She later attended Black Hawk Community College.

She was united in marriage to Timothy G. Reidy on April 26, 1997 in East Moline, IL.

Tim and Regina moved to Nebraska City in 2009 from San Antonio, TX.  In 2013 she opened her business “Sew Enchanting” on Main Street in Nebraska City and continued in the business until circumstances forced her to stop.  She was an avid quilter and loved to design her own patterns, especially apple and tree themed, in support of Nebraska City.  Regina also loved animals, almost always having at least one cat and dog in the family.  She was also passionate about bowling; participating in various bowling leagues.   She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister and will be dearly missed by her family and her customers.

She is survived by her husband Tim Reidy of Nebraska City; children:  Cassandra Morales and significant other Den of Nebraska City, Brendan Reidy of Omaha, NE, Molly Reidy of Nebraska City and Daniel Reidy of Lincoln, NE; her father Gary Nelson of Moline, IL; brothers:  Mike Nelson of Alamogordo, NM, Matt Nelson of Chillicothe, IL, Paul Nelson of Davenport, IA and Tom Nelson of Rio Communities, NM; other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Nelson in 2000 and sisters Peggy Brandon in 2018 and Becky Rasso in 1987.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday; April 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City; burial will be at 2:30 in the Omaha National Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.

Memorial donations will be given to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in her memory.
