Raymond C. Damme

Raymond C. Damme, age 90 of Nebraska City, NE (formerly Talmage) passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Prestige Care Center in Nebr. City.

Raymond was born on March 24, 1936 in rural Talmage, NE; the son of Carl and Florence (Liesemeyer) Damme.  He was the third child, joining sisters, Verna and Evelyn.  He grew up in the Talmage area and graduated from Talmage High School in 1954.

He was very active in the Talmage Community, where he ran the Talmage Gas Station, repaired cars, and served as the Fire Chief and volunteered on the Talmage Rescue Squad for many years.  Raymond also farmed in the Talmage area.  He will be remembered for his kindness and cheerful smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Verna in 2021 and Evelyn in 2008.

Raymond is survived by nephew: Dean Gress; nieces: Donna Gress and Kathy Martin; great nieces and nephews; other family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Lorton Lounge in Lorton, NE.

Inurnment will be in McWilliams (St. John) Cemetery by Talmage, NE where he’ll be laid to rest next to his parents, Carl and Florence.
