Phyllis Holland Obituary

Phyllis M. Holland, age 84 of Nebraska City passed away on May 12, 2024 at her home.

Phyllis Marie (Lotter) Holland was born February 1, 1940 in Auburn, NE; the daughter of Frank Lotter, Jr. and Cora Ida Augusta (Bauers) Lotter.  She attended school in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School with the Class of 1958.

She was united in marriage to George E. Holland on November 22, 1958 in Nebraska City, NE.  George preceded her in death on March 16, 2005.

Phyllis worked at various places over the years.  At an early age, she worked at the Port of Entry near the old Missouri River Bridge.  She also worked at the former Tastee Inn and Ocomo Foods in Nebraska City and she served as the distributor for the Omaha World Herald for many years.  She did assembly for Oriental Trading Company, walked beans for numerous farmers and lastly worked at the Lied Center Pie Garden and Gift Shop.  Phyllis was an avid bowler and bowled in various leagues and teams over the years.  She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. 

She is survived by her children:  Cheryl Moyer (Cecil) of Nebr. City, Pam Thompson (Steve) of Loveland, CO, Rick Holland (Judy) of David City, NE and Vicky Plympton (Annie) of Nebr. City; grandchildren:  Nichole Moyer, Chris, Scott and Travis Thompson, Elizabeth Parker, Mary Coufal, David and Phillip Holland, Becky Cobbs, Tonya and Jeremy Plympton; great-grandchildren:  Matt Moyer, Marshall and Madalynn Jackman, Howard, George and Remi Thompson, Lexie, Elijah and Caleb Parker, Sofia Cardenas, Liam Holland, Carter Cech, Riley Coufal, Trevor Plympton, Hunter and Colton Cook, Dominic and Anthony Moto, Natalie Procopio, Wynter and Lily Plympton; a brother Wayne Lotter (sig other Peggy) of Brownville, NE; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her husband George, she was preceded in death by grandchildren Corey and Mindy Moyer, great-grandchild Bentley Cook, sisters:  Wauneta McCoy and Helen Simmons, brother Larry Lotter and her parents.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday (May 18) at 11:00 a.m. at Wyuka Cemetery with Pastor Don Moore officiating.  A Celebration of Life will follow at Calvary Community Church in Nebr. City with food and fellowship.

Memorials may be given to the family in her memory.
