Perry "Butch" S. Tillman, Jr.

Perry S. “Butch” Tillman, Jr. age 81 of Sidney, IA passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026 in Nebraska City, at his son Matt’s home, surrounded by his loving family.

Butch was born on April 9, 1945 at the “old” Hamburg Hospital in Hamburg, IA; the son of Perry “Pete” and Harriet “Glee” (Wallace) Tillman.  He grew up in southwest Iowa and attended school in Thurman in his younger years.  He later attended school in Sidney, IA and graduated from the Sidney High School with the Class of 1963.  He then attended mechanic school in Omaha, NE.

Over the years, Butch worked at various jobs primarily in mechanics and maintenance.  He worked several years spraying railroad tracks, and then did various types of maintenance for the former Sidney Healthcare Center in Sidney, IA.  After the sale of the care center to the Ambassador, he continued his career working several years at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.   Butch was a hard worker and a man of many talents that could fix anything.  Some of his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, golfing and telling jokes!  Butch was a former member of the Nebraska City Eagles.

He is survived by his son Matt Tillman (Helena) of Nebr. City, NE; grandsons: Tyler Tillman (Ashlyn) stationed with the United States Navy in Jacksonville, FL and Jordan Tillman of Nebr. City, NE; two great-grandchildren: Asher Tillman and Willow Tillman; nieces and nephews: Bill Stanley, Elizabeth Boston, Patricia Ring, Steve Stanley and Eric Stanley; other family and friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Charlene Stanley and her husband Rick and his best friend Neil Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
