Paul G. Peter

Paul G. Peter, age 74 of rural Talmage, NE (formerly Lake Waconda and Omaha) passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

Paul Gerhard Peter was born on April 3, 1950 in Omaha, NE; the son of William A. and Annemarie (Ziese) Peter.  He grew up in Omaha where he attended St. Cecilia Grade School and later Creighton Prep High School where he graduated with the Class of 1968.  He then attended Creighton University.

On April 18, 1970, Paul was united in marriage to Glennys Louise Meader at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha and to this union four children were born. 

He worked for Travel Service working mainly with Corporate Travel and then owned and operated PGP Publishing.  He later worked at A-1 Locksmith in Nebraska City.  Paul was a former member of the Eagles.

He is survived by his wife Glennys Peter of Talmage, NE; children:  Timothy Peter (Candice) of Nebr. City, NE, Dawna Fitzsimmons (James) of Omaha, NE and Maxwell Peter (Rebecca) of Nebr. City, NE; ten grandchildren:  Tristian Peter, Alexander Peter, Kelsey Brown, Skyla Peter, Zachary Fitzsimmons, Brianna Perkins, Kylee Fitzsimmons, Randi Peter, Hanna Peter and Kendall Peter; three great-grandchildren; brother William Peter (Patsy) of Omaha, NE; other family and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by son Randall Peter in 2003; his parents, a sister Helen Pratkelis and mother-in-law Dolores Meader.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Ronald Homes celebrating the Mass.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (3/21) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.  A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in memory of Paul.
