Patrick L. Chaney, age 72 of Nebr. City passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Emerald Nursing & Rehabilitation Care Center in Lincoln, NE.
Patrick Lee Chaney was born on March 17, 1951 to Paul A. and Louise (Childers) Chaney in Nebraska City. He grew up and attended school in Nebraska City. He entered the United States Army in 1967 and served his country in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on August 9, 1971.
He was a simple man who loved to fish, hunt, play cards, and watch wrestling and Husker football on TV.
Patrick married Donna Adkins (Resseguie) and to this union his only daughter Dawn (Chaney) Printz was born. Dawn made him grandpa 4 times with Jamie Seuferer, Mathew Chaney, Dakota Printz and Zachary Printz.
In 2006 he married Carol Faler and became father to Jon Wilson, Kimberly (Wilson) Barrett, Patricia Wilson and Lorali (Faler) Sparks and grandfather to Jazmine Rockwell, Kayla and Jacob Wilson, Lexi and Lennon Barrett.
Patrick is survived by his wife Carol Chaney of Nebraska City, children Dawn Printz of Lincoln, Lorali (Jesse) Sparks of Plattsmouth, Jon Wilson (Peggy Frye) of Waverly, and Kimberly (Bill) Barrett of Lincoln. Grandchildren Jamie Seuferer, Mathew Chaney, Dakota Printz, Zachary Printz, Jazmine Rockwell, Kayla Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Lexi Barrett and Lennon Barrett. Brothers: Dale Chaney and wife Janice of Percival, IA, Tony Chaney and wife June, and Jake Chaney and wife Teri all of Nebr. City, sister-in-law Gloria Chaney of Nebraska City and brother-in-law Frank E. Davis of Ventura, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Louise; children: Anthony Adkins and Patricia Wilson; brothers: Roy, Jim, and Paul “Pudge”, sister-in-law Ann and niece Michelle.
Patrick will be missed and remembered by those who loved him including many nephews, nieces.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City. Military Honors will be conducted by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail.
The family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, (6/7) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
