Obituary

Norleen Brown, age 86 of Nebraska City passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, NE.

 Norleen was born on January 11, 1935 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Herman H. Vollmann Sr. and Nellie E. (Sumner) Vollmann.  She grew up and attended school in Nebraska City, graduating from Nebraska City High School in 1953.

 She was united in marriage to Ray Charles Brown on July 29, 1962 in Nebraska City.  He preceded her in death on December 5, 2005.

  Norleen worked for many years for the Mercer family cleaning both the hardware store and at the home.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Nebr. City.

 She is survived by two sisters:  Ruby Vollmann of Auburn, NE and Mary Ashenfelter and husband Don of Nebr. City; numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Norleen was preceded in death by her dad Herman, Sr.  in 1980, her mom, Nellie in 1993; sisters:  Zena Wright, Dolores Wallace and Hazel Vollmann (infant), and brothers:  Herman Vollmann and Lester Vollmann.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (2/5) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. Burial will follow the services at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

The casket will lie in state from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday - all at Gude Mortuary.
