Nancy A. Owen, age 78 of Nebr. City; formerly Hamburg, IA passed away April 4, 2020 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.
She was born on May 20, 1941 at Fairfax, MO; the daughter of Dale and Helen I. (Hurst) White. She attended school and graduated from the Riverton High School with the Class of 1959. Nancy was united in marriage to Charles R. Owen on November 26, 1960 in Hamburg, IA and to this union three children were born: Debbie, Steve and Randy.
She worked for several years at the former Interstate Nurseries in Hamburg. She also worked at the Hamburg Market and as a secretary at Hamburg HIgh School. She dearly loved her grandchildren and often watched them over the years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Westboro, MO and enjoyed square dancing, camping with her husband Charles, trips to Branson, MO and the Sidney, IA Rodeo-the place where Charles and Nancy met. Most of all, she loved her family!
She is survived by her children: Debbie Lechner and husband Bob of Nebr. City, NE, Steve Owen and wife Dee of Farragut, IA and Randy Owen and wife Lora Lea of Hamburg, IA; grandchildren: Robert, Tyler, Alexis, Brody and Connor; great-grandchildren: Hannelore, Jayson and Robert Mark; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on Sept. 18, 2016, grandson Cameron Owen on Oct. 24, 2016; an infant brother William Dale and sisters: Terry and Judy Jennings.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a family Graveside Service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion (Utterback) Cemetery northeast of Hamburg, IA.
Open viewing is Tuesday from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. and Wednesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. all at Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg. Due to CDC guidelines, crowd size will be limited to 10 people.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, Westboro, MO.
