Minnie Evelyn (Alexander) Brown

Minnie E. Brown, age 87 of Tarkio, MO (formerly rural Hamburg, IA) passed away on May 4, 2022 at the Tarkio Rehab and Healthcare in Tarkio, MO.

Minnie was born on December 20, 1934 at Grant City, MO; the daughter of Leland and Fern (Farnsworth) Alexander.  She grew up in the Farragut, IA area and attended school there.

She was united in marriage to Charles William Brown on December 24, 1951 at Sidney, IA and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2001.

Minnie was a farm wife for numerous years and worked alongside her husband Charles in all aspects of farming.  She also had worked at the former Interstate Nurseries in Hamburg, did babysitting for numerous years and cleaned homes for various families.

She is survived by her children:  Angie Muntz of Rock Port, MO, Linda Hensley of Missouri and Kenny Brown of Rock Port, MO; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sisters:  Sharon Naico of Texas and Edith Simmerman of Nebr. City, NE, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her husband Charles and her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings:  Rufus, Bob, Mary, Laura, Freda and Edna Mae.

Funeral Services will be held Monday; May 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA with Pastor Jack Langley officiating.  Burial will be in the Grange Hall Cemetery at rural Rock Port, MO.

Visitation is open on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Atchison County Rescue or the Hamburg Rescue.
