Mavis D. (Michaelsen) Consolver

Mavis D. Consolver, age 83 of Nebraska City, NE (formerly Omaha) passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Syracuse Area Health Center in Syracuse, NE.

Mavis Dennis Consolver was born on September 26, 1941 in St. Joseph, MO; the daughter of Carl M. and Louise Nellie (Lucky) Michaelsen.  The family later moved to Omaha, NE where she attended school including South High School.  

Mavis was united in marriage to Richard Lee Consolver on June 15, 1963 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE and to this union four children were born:  Carl, Debbie, Theresa and Michael.  Richard preceded her in death on July 6, 2000.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  In addition to being a housewife and homemaker, Mavis also worked as a school aid, a waitress and at Mutual of Omaha.  She moved to Nebraska City in 2015 to be closer to family.  She attended Calvary Community Church in Nebr. City.

Mavis enjoyed arts and crafts, especially diamond paintings.  Her biggest joy was spending time with her family; she had a heart full of love and shared it with her family and friends. 

She is survived by her four children:  Carl Consolver (Neomi) of Omaha, NE, Debbie Reynolds (David) of Nebr. City, NE, Theresa Stiles (Bill) of Percival, IA and Michael Consolver (Judi) of Coupeville, WA; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother Walter Michaelsen (Kitty) of Omaha, NE; two nieces, two nephews; other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Mavis was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Svolos.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Calvary Community Church in Nebr. City with Pastor Don Moore officiating.  Graveside Services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, NE where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Richard.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (2/16) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

Memorials may be given to Calvary Community Church in Nebr. City in her memory.
