Matthew "Matt" Flowers Obituary

Matthew (Matt) (Jiggy) Aaron Flowers, age 43, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Matt was born on August 19, 1980, in the back of an ambulance in Denver, Colorado to Butch and Patty Flowers.

Matt moved with his family to Hamburg, Iowa when he was in elementary school and graduated from Hamburg High School with the class of 2000.
In May of 2010, Matt married his high school sweetheart, Courtney Sloop. They had 3 children together. The two later divorced.  In 2015, Matt had his 4th child with his girlfriend, Kayla George.

Matt considered his children to be his biggest accomplishment in his life and was very proud of each of them. Matt instilled good values in his children. He told them to be a good person and help anyone in need because it's the right thing to do, and do it without expecting anything in return.

His family has always been very important to him. As a child, Matt's baby brother put a girl scout pin in his mouth. As he was choking and turning blue, 9 year old Matt jumped the porch railing and ran to the neighbors to call 911 for help. His quick thinking saved his brother's life.

Matt loved being out in nature, camping, hiking in the mountains and riding his motorcycles.  He was very creative and artistic, and enjoyed crafting things such as beautiful beaded necklaces and bracelets.  Matt was an avid concert-goer. He loved rocking out to music and hanging out with all of his friends. Matthew was one of a kind. A free-spirited gypsy and a hippie, a rebel and an outlaw. A man who truly lived life on his own terms. A beloved and cherished father, son, brother, and friend to many.

Matt is survived by his children, Jasper Flowers, Haylee Sloop, and Samuel Flowers, all of Hamburg, Iowa and Scarlet Flowers of Colorado Springs, Colorado. His mother, Patty Flowers, sisters Amber Flowers (Tyler Smith) and children Sonny and Sierra of Hot Springs, South Dakota, Shanti Flowers (Dwight Fleahardy) and daughter, Alaina, of Hot Springs and brother Jacob Flowers (Shannon Ghost) and children Carter, Eva and Rosemary of Rapid City, South Dakota, paternal grandmother Betty Flowers of Lusk, Wyoming, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Butch Flowers, grandparents Don Flowers, Dawna and Samuel Avis and uncle Bobby Flowers.
