Matt was born on February 16, 1968 in Amarillo, Texas; the son of Charles “Ed” and Magdalen “Meg” (Still) Parsons. He grew up in Amarillo and attended Alamo Catholic High School in Amarillo.

Matt had a passion for music and radio and had spent the majority of his life living his dream as a radio personality. He obtained his first radio job at the age of 16 at KGRO/KOMX in Pampa, Texas. He went on to work full time at FM 99 -KRLB – Lubbock, Texas. After the Parsons family moved to Nebraska, Matt worked the majority of his radio career at 107.7 FM – KSYZ in Grand Island, Nebraska hosting the “Matt and Julia” Morning show.

After moving to Nebraska, Matt would wed Jonna (Behrends) Parsons and a son, Matthew Wyatt was born to the union.

In his last years, his declining health would prevent his presence on the air. He made his mark in the radio world and will be missed. If you tune in and listen closely, you can still hear him spinning those records and hearing his infectious radio voice.

Matt is survived by his son, Matthew Wyatt; and one granddaughter, Natasha; siblings Rev. Vincent Parsons of St. Paul, NE; Dan Parsons of Lincoln, NE; Anna (Jim) Dedic of Auburn, NE; James (Angela) Parsons of Syracuse, NE and Jeanna Pestel of Omaha, NE.
