Mary Catherine Wampler

Mary C. Wampler, age 81, of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.

Mary Catherine Wampler was born on December 23, 1940 in Wright County, Missouri; the daughter of Howard Owen and Dorothy (Edwards) Wampler.  Her family later moved to Iowa where she graduated from the Sidney High School, Sidney, IA with the Class of 1961.  

She worked at the former Ocomo Foods in Nebraska City for some 7 1/2 years and then began her career at American Meter where she worked for 28 years before retiring on April 1, 1996.   Mary was an avid M&M Memorabilia and Recipe Book collector!

She is survived by her siblings:  Owen Wampler of Grand Island, NE and Betty Kuhlman and husband Darold of Horseshoe Bend, ID; sister-in-law Darlene Wampler of Nebr. City; 15 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews and 51 great-great nieces and nephews; other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Carl Wampler, sister Evelyn McMann, brother Donald Wampler, sister-in-law Patricia Wampler, brother-in-law Jerry McMann and a niece Caren Wampler.

Graveside Services will be on Friday (9/16) at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, IA. 

Memorials may be given to the Riverton Cemetery in her memory.
