Mark Eugene West

Mark Eugene West, 65, of Talmage, NE passed away on July 14, 2023 at the Prestige Care Center in Nebraska City.

Mark was born on September 14, 1957 in Auburn, NE, the son of Leonard E. and Delores M. (Bolejack) West. He grew up and attended school in Nebraska City.

On January 26, 2001, he was united in marriage to Julie Eloge in Nebraska City.

Mark worked for many years as an Iron Worker for Iron Workers Local 21 in Omaha. He was very good at his job and enjoyed working on large buildings. He enjoyed pointing out the buildings he built as he drove around Omaha. When he wasn’t working, he liked to be outside and especially liked mud-dragging, wood chopping, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Julie West of Talmage, NE; step-son Jassen Hall of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Sebastian, Skylee, and Devlin Hall; mother Delores “Dee” West of Nebraska City; sister Lynn Wurtele and husband Dale of Nebraska City; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Those preceding him in death include his father, Leonard West; step-son Jeremy Hall; and an infant brother Ross West.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday; July 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery near Talmage, NE.  Burial will follow the services.
