Marilyn Jean (Edwards) Mozingo

Marilyn J. Mozingo, age 78 of Riverton, IA passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center in Red Oak, IA.

Marilyn Jean Mozingo was born on December 7, 1942 in Red Oak, IA; the daughter of Donald R. and Bonnie Jean (Roof) Edwards.  She attended school in Red Oak and later obtained her GED and CNA Certificate from Iowa Western Community College.

On October 18, 1991, she was united in marriage to Ernest “Ernie” Mozingo in Riverton, IA.  Marilyn worked at various jobs over the years, including working as a cook for many years, and later for Grape Community Hospital as a Home Health Care CNA in the Sidney and Shenandoah areas.

Marilyn enjoyed bowling and her Bible Study group.  She also had a great love of horses.

She is survived by children:  Lori McKim (Joe Thomas) of Carter Lake, IA, Lisa Holland (Mark) of Carter Lake, IA, Tracy Welch (Tony) of Shenandoah, IA, Willie Mozingo (Braden) of Red Oak, IA, Mark Mozingo (Dawn) of Bagley, IA and Matt Mozingo of Bagley, IA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Ted Edwards (Prudy); brother-in-law Dennis Phillips; brother-in-law Randy Mozingo (Sharon) of Maryville, MO; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Mozingo on June 25, 2009, parents Don and Bonnie Edwards, sister Sue Phillips, son Mike Mozingo, grandson Justin Mozingo, nephews:  Marty Gordon and Dean Edwards; mother-in-law Mary Mozingo Sturm and son-in-law David McKim.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA.  Burial will follow at the Riverton Cemetery in Riverton, IA.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (12/1) at the funeral home.
