Madison L. (Maddy) Crook

Madison L. “Maddy” Crook, age 15 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Madison Lyn “Maddy” Crook was born on February 2, 2006 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE; the daughter of Aaron Matthew Crook and Jennifer Lyn Lee.  

Maddy was just starting her sophomore year in high school.  She enjoyed art, gardening, animals and birds; especially hummingbirds.  Her favorite holidays were Halloween and the Fourth of July.  She loved family gatherings, loved to eat, loved nature and the outdoors, and coyote hunting.   She cherished joking around with her family and friends and giving them a “hard” time. She will be greatly missed!

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Jennifer Crook (sig. other Travis Reitan) of Plattsmouth, NE; Aaron Crook (fiance’ Cindy Brown) of Nehawka, NE; brother Cole Crook (girlfriend Addi Andersen) of Nehawka, NE; step brother and sister:  Kohen Brown and Kennedy Brown; maternal grandparents Gary and Vicki Lee of Auburn, NE; paternal grandparents Larry and Vicki Crook of Nehawka, NE; aunts and uncles: Troy and Corrie Crook of Union, NE; Jo Crook of Union, NE and Patric and late wife Michelle McDonald of Lincoln, NE; cousins: Casen and Chase Crook, McKenna Crook, Mariah Crook, Miley Crook, McKinley Crook and Cassie McDonald; best friend/cousin Chloe Cavanzon of Union, NE; her beloved pets:  dogs Belle, Ruby, Boomer, Hank, Huck, Ringo and Doc, bunny Thumper, cat Spud and her fish as well as numerous other family and many friends.

Maddy was preceded in death by her aunt Michelle McDonald in 2018, close friend Kt Bescheinen and her maternal and paternal great-grandparents.

In celebrating Maddy’s love of the outdoors, Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Open Air Auditorium at the Cass County Fairgrounds near Weeping Water, NE with a lunch to follow.   Casual attire is encouraged for the services.  In the case of inclement weather, the funeral will be moved inside the Expo Building at the Fairgrounds.  Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the East Union Cemetery, rural Union, NE.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (9/9) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

Memorials may be given to the Midlands Humane Society, Council Bluffs, IA.
