Lonnie A. Martin

Lonnie A. Martin, age 81 of Nebraska City passed away on October 4, 2020 at Gateway Vista Care Center in Lincoln, NE.

Lonnie was born on April 3, 1939 in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Lewis Andrew and Chiona May (Gardner) Martin.  He grew up and attended school through the 8th Grade and later went on to earn his G.E.D.  

On September 23, 1960, Lonnie was united in marriage to Doris M. Rogers at the First Presbyterian Church in Nebr. City and to this marriage two children were born:  Linda and Tony.

He worked at American Meter for 33 ½  years from 1968 to 2001.  Lonnie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for some 60 years. He also was a member of the Arbor Shrine Club, the Tangier Shrine, Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter 1 and Western Star Lodge 2 A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Martin of Nebr. City; children:  Linda Martin of Nebr. City and Tony Martin and wife Susan of Lincoln, NE; sister Anna Ullsperger of Cook, NE and brother Jerry Martin of Dunbar, NE; sister-in-law Sandy Martin of Nebr. City; brother-in-law Emil Kreifels of Guernsey, WY; other family and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings:  Lewis Wilber Martin, Russell Martin, Raymond Martin, Judy Kreifels and Leonard Martin.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church in Nebr. City; burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.  The service will be live streamed on Gude Mortuary Facebook Page.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct 9 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church (Nebr. City), the Arbor Shrine Club of Nebr. City or the family's choice.
