Lois "Dode" Lynn Obituary

Lois “Dode” Yvonne Lynn, 93, of Hamburg, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Lois was born on September 4, 1932, in Hamburg, IA, the daughter of Cline and Ora (Farr) Lynn. She attended school in Hamburg, graduating with the class of 1950. After graduation, she began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, a job she held for 12 years. She later began her career with Fremont County as the Deputy Clerk and later as Fremont and Page County Probation and Parole Officer. After retiring, she worked part-time as a Fremont County Bailiff for 11 years.

Lois always kept Jesus at the center of her life, participating in various capacities at the Assembly of God Church where she was a long-time and integral member. Along with serving on the church board and as the Secretary, she also played the piano for church services. Her family was very important to her, and she loved to keep up with everybody on Facebook. Her favorite hobbies also included watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Chiefs, doing word searches and crossword puzzles, and snacking every hour. She was a neighborhood “grandma” and was known to many of the kids in Hamburg.

In addition to her numerous nieces and nephews, she is survived by her great-niece Becky Howell of Hamburg, IA; great-great nieces: Raissa (Colton) Sleep of Hamburg, IA, Elizabeth (fiancé Jordan Young) Baisch, and their children Laney and Nicky Young of Red Oak, IA, and Lea (fiancé Gunner Schaefer) Howell of Emporia, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Mamie Gardner, Jack Lynn, Dub Lynn, Eula Driskell, Mickey Bolton, and Lela Lynn
