Lois Ann (Heng) Kreifels

Lois A. Kreifels, age 92 of Nebraska City passed away on Thursday evening; Nov. 3, 2022 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Lois Ann (Heng) Kreifels was born on Feb. 15, 1930 at rural Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Robert J. Heng, Sr. and Margaret Ann (Volkmer) Heng.  She attended country school and later the Nebr. City High School where she graduated with the Class of 1948.   She was united in marriage to Clement A. Kreifels on June 2, 1948 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church near Paul, NE.

Lois was a housewife/homemaker and worked alongside her husband Clem on the farm.  After his death in 1985, she worked at the former Swoyer's Grocery Store and Otoe County Bank.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.   She moved to Nebraska City from the farm near Paul, NE in 2011.

She is survived by her children:  Roberta "Bobbi" Tompkins of Nebr. City, Chris Kreifels (Lori) of Scottsdale, AZ and Mary Lynn Hall (Tim) of Nebr. City; 9 grandchildren:  Brent Guess, Blain Guess, Doug Guess (Heather), Kelly Tompkins, Morgan Pohle (Ben), Emily Moffet (Michael), Crystal Prouty (Darren), Chessa Clay (Jon) and Courtney Schmitz (Jay); 14 great-grandchildren:  Braden (Ashtyn), Brooklyn, Tori, Cooper, Blake, Olivia, Thad, Gracie, Jadus, Xander, Evers, Harlow, Beckem and Crew; siblings:  Mary Farley of Syracuse, NE and Robert Heng, Jr. (Bonnie) of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law Sharon Heng of Lincoln, NE; other family and friends.

In addition to her husband Clement who died on Oct. 29, 1985, she was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Heng, a sister Janis Kinnison (Lester) and an infant sister Donna Lea.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (11/9) at 10:30 a.m.  at St. Joseph's Catholic Church near Paul, NE (southwest of Nebraska City); burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited Tuesday (11/8) at 7:00 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City preceded by the family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
