Linda A. Russell, age 74 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at her home with family around her.
Linda Ann Russell was born on July 26, 1950 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Edward Dean and Carol Jean (Pope) Roddy. She grew up and attended school in Nebraska City where she graduated from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1968. She then attended Southeast Community College where she received an Associate Degree in Social Services.
She was united in marriage to Kent E. Russell on April 17, 1975 in Illinois and they shared 50 years together.
She worked at Pendleton Woolen Mills for 20 plus years and also worked at Nebraska City Manor and the Nebraska School for the Visually Impaired before retiring. She was very active in the community where she was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and volunteered for the Nebraska City Rescue Squad, at the Eagles Club and at St. Mary’s Hospital Gift Shop. Some of her favorite pastimes were camping, gardening, quilting, crocheting and puzzles. She had tremendous love for her family and friends and loved to travel and vacation with them. She had traveled to many places including Mexico, California, Alaska, Germany, Ireland and Hawaii.
Linda is survived by her husband Kent Russell of Nebraska City, NE; daughters: Amy Clark (Kenn) of Winchester, KS, Elizabeth Esser (Brian) of Nebr. City, NE and stepdaughter Adele Russell (Dan) of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Charlene Lant, Cathy Meyer (Tim), Diana Roberts (Fred) all of Nebr. City, NE and David Lawson and wife Patty of Plattsmouth, NE; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Davis, her parents and brother-in-law John Lant.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.
