Leora "Lee" F. Kuwitzky, 96 of Auburn, Washington passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026 in Auburn, Washington.
Leora Florence Stukenholtz was born on May 26, 1929 in Nebraska City, NE, the daughter of Rollan and Walburga (Wirth) Stukenholtz. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. She later attended the Nebraska City High School where she graduated with the class of 1947.
In 1950, she was united in marriage to Albert H. Brandt of Nebraska City at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebraska City. Albert died on November 15, 1951. In 1956, Lee married Don Kuwitzky in Nebraska City, NE. They moved to Seattle, WA in 1956 and she resided there for 70 years.
In Seattle, Lee was a busy housewife and mother of three. She was involved in St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Fire District 11 activities. Many lifelong friends and relationships were established. At the age of 40, Leora entered cosmetology school and became a beautician. This was a career she loved, eventually opening her own beauty salon. At the age of 86, she provided her last client beautician services!
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Aleen Decoteau (Dennis) of Auburn, WA, sons: Creig Kuwitzky of Eatonville, WA and Brett Kuwitzky of Seattle, WA, brother: Carl Stukenholtz of Perry, IA; grandchildren: Mandi Rambayon (Ulysses) of Tacoma, WA, Andrea Lopez (Ed) of Federal Way, WA, and David Decoteau (Jillian) of Maple Valley, WA; great-grandchildren: Gabe Rambayon, Leo Rambayon, Mac Rambayon, Maya Lopez, Dayton Lopez, Tori Decoteau, and Brandt Decoteau along with many nieces and nephews.
Leora was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Rose Nelson (Emil), John Stukenholtz (Rita), Rollan Stukenholtz, Kathleen Stukenholtz, Sister Jean Stukenholtz, Jean Stukenholtz, Louis Stukenholtz (Darla) and Joan Meyer.
