Lawrence "Larry" Edward Hartman

Lawrence E. “Larry” Hartman, age 72 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Lawrence Edward Hartman was born on February 19, 1949 in Omaha, NE; the son of Roger E. and Darlene (Huss) Hartman.  He attended Giles District 2 Country School, then Lourdes Central Catholic for one year, before graduating from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1967. 

He married Joyce Andersen on July 17, 1996 in Lincoln, NE and they shared over 25 years together.  Larry was a member of the Nebraska National Guard for twenty plus years, before retiring in 1991.  One year during his service, Larry was awarded Soldier of the Year.

Larry was a member of DPC.  He enjoyed playing cards with friends and he liked karaoke.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hartman of Nebr. City; son:  Craig Hartman (Stacey) Brendan and Bryce of Nebr. City; brother Roger Hartman of Nebr. City; nieces:  Mallory Hartman, Sagan Hartman, Helena Hartman and Stephanie Hartman; other family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steve Hartman.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.  Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City with Military Honors conducted by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday (11/15) at the mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the Veteran’s Memorial Building Fund.
