Lauretta S. Harker, age 65 of Nebr. City passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Ambassador in Nebr. City.
Lauretta Sue Harker was born on September 22, 1957 at the former Brown’s Hospital in Nebraska City; the daughter of Laurence Earl and Avis Eileen (Hooley) Young. She grew up in Nebraska City, attended school and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1975.
On November 19, 1977, Lauretta was united in marriage to Alan D. Harker in Nebraska City. They shared 45 years together and to this union three children were born: Janette, Shawn and Amanda.
Lauretta worked for the Ambassador for some 23 years and most recently at the Otoe County Courthouse - Register of Deeds Office for the last four years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Alan Harker of Nebr. City; children: Janette Harker, Shawn Harker (Aimee) and Amanda Lotter (Travis) all of Nebr. City; ten grandchildren: Gavin, Noah, Brielle and Rozlynn Bailey, Preston Wieckhorst, Lextyn and Boston Harker, Taya Johnson, Kinlee and Zaylee Lotter; sister Linda Haas (Paul) of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law JoAnn Wakenight of Nebr. City; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ann Harker of Lincoln, NE, David Harker of Tecumseh, NE, Marc Harker (Marilyn) of Nebr. City, Steven Harker (Candie) of Spring Lake, NC, Vera Payne (Luke) of Louisburg, NC, Peggy Harker, Karen Harker and Grace Barnes all of Lincoln, NE; cousins: Tim and Les Keith; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Wakenight, mother and father-in-law Huber and Vera Harker, sister-in-law Mary Harker and aunt Mary Ann Williamson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City. Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary on Wednesday (1/11).
