Laurence J. DuBois, age 60 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Laurence John DuBois was born on August 9, 1963 in Ft. Eustis, VA; the son of Dennis Laurence and Barbara Ann (Kaspar) DuBois. He attended school and graduated as Valedictorian of 421 students at Northview High School in Dothan, AL with the Class of 1981. He attended college at Peru State College from 1981 to 1985, where he received a degree in Biology and Chemistry.
After college, he entered the United States Navy on April 8, 1986 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on September 8, 1994. He served on the USS Permit and the USS Buffalo.
Laurence was united in marriage to Sally S. Martineau on August 13, 1983 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City and to this union four daughters were born: Alexis, Erin, Madeline and Chloe. He began working at NPPD in 1995. And served as the Human Performance and Safety Manager. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #3152 amongst other organization.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sally DuBois of Nebr. City, NE; daughters: Alexis Densberger (Jeremie) of Fremont, NE, Erin DuBois (Nicholas Kreifels) of New York City, NY, Madeline Fedoris (Andrew) of Esslingen, Germany and Chloe DuBois (fiancé Chris Goering) of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren: Brooke Densberger, Stella Fedoris and Theodora Fedoris; his mother Barbara DuBois of Nebr. City, NE; siblings: Laurie Langdon of Nebr. City, NE, Lee DuBois (Amanda) of Birmingham, AL and Barry Rudman (Donara) of Forest Lake, MN; mother in law Virginia Greene of Gainsville, FL; sister in law Joni Day of Lincoln, NE; brothers-in-law: Mitch Martineau (Tina) of Navarre, FL and Phil Rockey of Hiawatha, KS; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family and friends.
Laurence was preceded in death by his dad Dennis DuBois in 2017, step-mom Sandy DuBois, father-in-law Virgil Martineau and sister-in-law Stacia Rockey.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Michael Ventre celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nebr. City with Military Honors conducted by the United States Navy Funeral Honors Detail.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (1/19) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to wear Hawaiian or Tie Dye Shirts to honor Laurence.
