Kenneth E. Parisi

Kenneth E. Parisi, age 72 of Nebraska City, NE made his final journey on June 4, 2022.

Kenneth Eugene Parisi was born on August 18, 1949 in Des Moines, IA; one of six children born to James Anthony and Phyllis Jeanne (Morgan) Parisi.

He attended school in Des Moines and at a young age began driving truck.  He entered the United States Army in 1970 and served for six years.  He later reenlisted in the United Army in 1984 and served until his honorable discharge in 1991.  During his time in the Army, he served both stateside and in Italy for a total of 13 years.   After his service in the military, Ken continued as a transportation specialist until his retirement.

He was united in marriage to Eileen K. (Everett) Uchytil on April 12, 2003 in Nebraska City.  She preceded him in death on October 21, 2014.

Ken was a member of the Talmage American Legion Post and a former member of the Nebraska City Rescue Service.  He also was involved in many Boy Scout activities.

He is survived by his daughters:  Kimberly Barenthin of Missouri, Tina McClary of Kansas, Carol Goebel (Gregg) of Nebr City, NE and Betsy Eaton (Walter) of Missouri; two grandchildren:  Joshua Barenthin and Nichole Goebel (Kyle); his siblings who reside in Missouri:  Michael Parisi (Janie), Steve Parisi (Sherry), Kathy Reuther (Ralph) and Eileen Phillips (Shawn); other family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Ken was preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis Parisi and sister Michelle (Parisi) Bastean.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail, at the mortuary following the Celebration of Life. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Otoe County Veterans Van Fund.
