Kenneth Knickman Obituary

Kenneth D. Knickman, age 89 of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday; December 18, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City.

He was born on May 12, 1932 in Otoe, NE; the son of William D. and Lena (Hillman) Knickman.

He entered the US Army during the Korean War on Dec. 2, 1952 and was honorably discharged on Dec. 2, 1954 as a Sergeant. 

He was united in marriage to Carol A. (Myers) Peterson on October 15, 1983 in Oklahoma.

Kenny worked for many years at Trailmobile Trailer Sales and Service and he retired from there after a long and fulfilling career; including owning the business in Des Moines, IA.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Urbandale, IA as well as the American Legion and Eagles.

He is survived by his wife Carol of Nebr. City; daughter Danette Greenfield (Bruce) of Huxley, IA, son Scott Knickman of Sikeston, MO, grandchildren:  Matt Knickman (Candice) of Cleveland, OH, Megan Stegall (Jason) of St. Louis, MO, Alex Greenfield (Kim) of Kamrar, IA and Dan Greenfield of Cleveland, OH;  9 great grandchildren; step children Rex Peterson and Renee Peterson both of Nebr. City; step-grandchildren:  Josh Peterson (Samantha) and Rex Peterson II both of Nebr. City; brother Bill Knickman (Jan) of Nebr. City; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Michelle Knickman, his parents, a sister Dona Watermeier and brother-in-law Dale Watermeier.

Services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Shriners Children’s Hospital or the donor’s favorite charity.
