Keith Raymond Schreiter

Keith R. Schreiter, age 87 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Thursday; March 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebr. City.

Keith was born on October 8, 1936 in Nebr. City; the son of Raymond C. and Marie A. (Heng) Schreiter.  He attended school at District #17 Country School and later attended Nebraska City High School where he graduated with the Class of 1955.

He was united in marriage to Arlene M. Antes on September 27, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City and to this union four sons were born:  Scott, Todd, Brad and Ted.

Keith was a life-long farmer.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Otoe County Wildlife Club.  He served in the Army National Guard from 1954 to 1961.   Keith loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting.

He is survived by his wife Arlene of Nebr. City; sons:  Scott Schreiter (Deb) of Pierce, CO, Brad Schreiter (Gail) of Ogallala, NE and Ted Schreiter (Carmen) of Dunbar, NE; four grandchildren:  Zachary Schreiter (Kayla), Alexis Lacount (Wade), Joe Schreiter and Katie Schreiter; great grandchild Hudson Schreiter; a sister Joyce Turner (Leland) of Nebr. City; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Todd Robert Schreiter in 1964 and his parents.

Funeral Services will be held Monday (3/11) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church; burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday (3/10) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Nebr. City Fire or Nebr. City Rescue.
