Katherine Jean Gilli

Katherine J. Gilli, 44, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Katherine Jean Gilli was born on January 29, 1982, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Paul Clement Gilli and Barbara Ann (Wojtowicz) Gilli. She attended school in Nebraska City, Council Bluffs, and Syracuse.

Katherine worked at various places throughout her life, including Super C’s Gas Station as a service clerk, and as a waitress at the Apple Barrel Restaurant and the former Teresa’s Restaurant, both in Nebraska City.

She is survived by her daughter, Saless McLaughlin of Nebraska City; grandson Gus Thorne; parents, Barbara Gilli and Paul Gilli; significant other, Dan Carey and daughter Justyce of Syracuse; and sister, Barbie Aldana of New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nicole McLaughlin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Pastor Chad Bostwick officiating.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the mortuary.
