Karen Sue (Bowersmith) Bray

Karen S. Bray, age 69 of Nebraska City passed away on Thursday; August 8, 2019 at Prestige Care Center in Nebraska City.

Karen was born on June 22, 1950 in Oakland, CA; the daughter of Robert Earl Bowersmith and Emma Irene (Faler) Hall.  She attended school in California and graduated from the Mount Diablo High School in Concord, CA with the Class of 1968.

She worked at American Meter Company in Nebr. City for some 13 years in the painting department.  She also worked at the Eagles, Lorton Lounge and at Farmers COOP.  She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and loved BINGO, Elvis and her trips to Las Vegas.  She also was accomplished in roller skating and appeared on Wide World of Sports in the early 1960s.

She is survived by her daughters:  Teresa Ann Wademan of Jackson, GA, Cindi Ann Bray of Nebr. City; granddaughter Erin Nicole Wademan-Flores (Miguel) of Nebr. City; siblings:  Everett Bowersmith (Sherri) of Unadilla, NE, Dale Bowersmith (Cindy) of Nebr. City, Darla Owens of Syracuse, NE, Milton “Hoss” Hall of Tulsa, OK, Gail Parks (Duane) of Dunbar, NE and Edward “Chip” Hall, Jr. of Dunbar, NE; other family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday (8/11) at 2:30 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.  Private family burial services will be held Monday at Wyuka Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday (8/10) at Gude Mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the family.
