June E. Blevins, age 88 of Nebr. City passed away on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at Nebraska City Care & Rehabilitation.
June Estella Blevins was born on July 31, 1930 in Kansas City, KS; the daughter of Robert Samuel and Estella Lillian (Higgins) Blevins. Her family later moved to Nebraska City, where she attended school and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1949.
She worked at American Meter in Nebraska City for some 29 years before retiring in 1988. June was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Nebr. City.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Virginia Cornish of Bonney Lake, WA, Laura Cornish of Bonney Lake, WA, Jason Cornish of Bonney Lake, WA, James Collman (Pauline) of Omaha, NE, Tim Collman (Amanda) of Nebr. City, Linda Kathleen Collman of Lincoln, NE and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Blood and family of Beatrice NE; great-nieces and nephews: Katelyn Estella Collman, Michael James Patrick Collman, Isaiah Cornish, Quentin Cornish, Kylee Collman and Aidan Jaxon O‘Connell; special friend Lorene Zimmerman of Nebr. City; other family and friends.
June was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and three sisters: Jerry Higgins, Thomas Lee Blevins, Robert V. Blevins, Donnie G. Blevins, Patrick I Blevins, Bettyjean Blood, Mildred Rebuck, Leota G. Collman and Linda Kay Blevins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City. June chose to donate her body to science. She will be buried at a later date in Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City.
